I want to thank all my friends for their wonderful thoughts and prayers for my Rocky...somehow they worked. I was miserable all day, to say the least, and was even ready to put Rocky down tonight....i left work early to pick him up and spend time with him....when I got to work, the vet tech that is with him the most came out to me and told me she couldnt believe it, but not only did Rocky recover from what bothered him this weekend, but he was better than hes been in a couple of weeks! He was walking better, his eyes were bright, he made a nice poop in the corner of his cage and didnt walk in it, he wasnt circling as much....for over an hour, we were talking and watching Rocky...and he was a different dog....he was responsive...we did the animal Quality of Life eval and he scored 47 where he only needed a 35 in order to continue with hospice instead of euthanasia... confused...happy...ecstatic...exhausted...all of the above...I even spoke to the vet (who is convinced he has a brain tumor and cancer) and we all agreed to take it day by day for now. When we got home, Rocky was more responsive than hes been in a while....he followed me to the kitchen, looked at me and then looked at his treat jar....I knew what he wanted. But even more amazing- he was resting on the sofa, he got down and walked straight to the door....he was letting me know he had to go out! He hasnt done that in MONTHS! Something is happening...is it Gin? Is having another dog around stimulating him and waking him up? It can happen....is this Rockys way of letting me know hes not yet ready to leave? I have my rational head back on and made a decision....i love my vets, but when you hear the words brain tumor and cancer, you go into panic mode. Its all speculation...ive decided that im going to take him to a veterinary neurologist and let HIM give me a more informed diagnosis...I need a real expert opinion...it will be worth the money. In the meantime, im continuing hospice care at home...taking it day by day...the vets and techs will watch him closely during the day....and just loving my lil boy... Thank you all ...your prayers have worked a miracle.
