I want to thank everyone for their well wishes while I was in the hospital. I thought I would consider it a staycation, you know with the bed rest, cable, morphine and all but sadly it didnt quite turn out that way. While I am being admitted my phone is blowing up from a number I dont recognize. It stops at 9:30 that night. The next morning I am throwing up through my med induced fog and the phone starts again. It was from someone who got my number and had kittens, seriously. Will I take them? Omg! Really. I told her I was in the hospital, please call later in the week. Friday I am going down to surgery and happen to know the person Co-ordinating anesthesia. I know her, she doesnt know me. Obviously a well educated woman and she comes in to the room asking all the nurses whos going to help me with these kittens? Between my kids, I have 11 kittens to find homes for. They are black as usual, just let me know! luckily my happy juice was kicking in and I only thought I was kicking and screaming. Rescuers are not obligated to help you with your animals. So many expect you to do for them not help. Once when we took 13, yes 13 four and five month old pups and then spayed the moms and the puppy they wanted to keep. Six months later here they are with 3 pups. They let another shelter pick the ones they wanted and brought the rest to us. They were quite shocked when I said no. I helped them out of a big mess once, I am done. This happens over and over. My commitment is to the ones in the pounds. They break my heart. I wont change my focus to make some feel better about the situation they create. Sorry, maybe I am crabby but I had a lot of time to think while in the hospital.
