I want to thank everyone who came out to Mervin Brookins Sr. Celebration/Appreciation Surprise Dinner. It was truly an amazing time with family and close friends. I can honestly say, he was speechless! I want to give a special thank you to Ebony Hall for going over and beyond with no questions ask, just calling and saying I did this, I did that and here from start to finish! Felicia Johnson Murphy for calling her bro to reserve the Elks. Deanna J. Jekayinfa for making the labels for the bottles. Nicko Chaney for assisting me with the decorations and food. La Shione Elder for coming in and putting in work wherever needed and singing for us. Lucci Yuponce for hooking up the chicken and assisting with getting the room together. Howard M Hawkins and wife for making sure baby bro was taken care of and for getting him away while we put the finishing touches on the room and for the food and drinks. Tanika T Brookins and my grandbabies for assisting me with making the banana pudding and jalapeno poppers and for making her dad his favorite lasagna and pasta salad. Brit for providing all the meat. Julius Payne for providing the trays. Victor Baker for the champagne. Councilmember Allen W. Warren and Gina Warren for the cake and for speaking on Mervins behalf. Tonya Smith for the cake that I didnt get any of. Angela West for the 7-layer dips while taking care of my sick grandbaby. Tristina Williams for making sure her stepdad had a great time. And last but not least...ALL OF YOU THAT CAME OUT AND MADE THIS DAY SPECIAL...THANK YOU AND I LOVE YOU ALL!
