I want to thank everyone who is following this page. Just knowing that you take time to read about our little corner of the world means so much to me as a mom of a child with autism. I wanted to share a small part of our story with you. My husband and I are the parents of 11 children. Our youngest son, who is our 9th child, was diagnosed with ASD when he was 4 years old. Timmy was developing normally until the age of three. We then noticed significant changes. Timmy was losing much of his speech and would wander off to play by himself. After being referred by his pediatrician to a developmental pediatrician , Timmy was diagnosed with moderate to mildly severe autism and developmental delays. He is now 7 years old and will be 8 years old in September. Verbally, he speaks on a level of a 2 and 1/2 year old. He is about caught up to the speech level he was when we started noticing his regression. There is so much more to our story. However, I just wanted to give everyone a little glimpse into our world. Autism is a huge part of our family. It does not define our little guy. It does not define our family. However, I must say this...autism may not define us, but it sure refines us. ~~
