I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for getting me through this hike today. I have done some gnarly hikes before but climbing 6,000 feet for six miles in 4:50 minutes is a whole different ball game. We started climbing immediately, steep long and grueling! I consider myself to be in shape and at some point a hike like this switched from my physical strength to ALL mental. When you legs are shaking and refuse to take another step and your heart feels like it is going to explode the mental game is on. I quoted scripture and called on Jesus! I was alone for most of it, this was not a social kumbayah type of experience these people where avid hikers and some did it in 3 hours!!! It was my first time and I clocked 4:50 minutes and the hike leader that doubted said that I did an amazing job! On top of that I had altitude sickness at the top and still had 3 miles to hike down to the ski lift to get to our cars. God is good. #notmovingoffthiscouch!
