I want to thank you for being the force behind this campaign. You worked so hard to push us across the finish line — you made calls, you donated your time, and you donated your money. We could not have done this without you. Now, more than ever, we must continue working as a unified front, continue working together for the greater good, and continue fighting for the Mississipians who have been silenced, ignored, and forgotten by our state leadership. I want to tell you how proud I am of the race we ran. For the first time in a long time, Mississippians felt like someone was listening to them. That is why I got into this race in the first place — to fight for the little guy. We campaigned on issues that have rarely been a priority for a candidate running for statewide office – issues that have a huge impact on Mississippians. For the last eight months, we have traveled the state talking to voters and local media about increasing the minimum wage to a living wage, ensuring women receive equal pay for equal work, and the importance of making health care accessible to the 300,000 Mississippians living without. It didnt end in our favor tonight, but the results tell us something very hopeful: the people of Mississippi care about the challenges facing our state, they want true representation in Washington, and they’re ready to move forward. We have the momentum, and we owe it to Mississippians to keep going — to keep fighting for something better. As I’ve said throughout this campaign, the people of Mississippi deserve no less.
