I want us to know there is an aspect of grace which we take for granted. Its about rest. Grace promotes a lifestyle in harmony with Gods creation. It flows with the movement of creation and His Spirit. God created morning and evening on the 1st day. He then created the sun moon and stars to fill in the day and night he made on the 1st day. He then created the sky and the sea on the 2nd. He created the birds and fishes on the 5th day to fill the sky and sea he created on the 2nd day. He created the earth and plants on the 3rd and he then created the animals and man on the 6th to feed on the plants he made on the 3rd. Everything has an order and rhythm. Our lives are build around this order. A sense of seasons and time. Solomon says there is a time for everything. Unless our lives reflects a sense of such rhythm we can hardly sense the peace and rest He promises. Sometimes grace is not just found in the doctrines. It is found in deliberately forcing ourselves to follow a rhythm that rests. Jesus was always on time, always moving but yet always resting. He is the perfect embodiment of resting and yet busy. His secret lies in how he lived. He would have morning meetings with his Father. Evening meals with his loved ones. He would also sleep when its time to sleep. Even in a storm. His rhythm was interrupted by the Pharisees who wanted to see to Jesus death when they held a trial in the middle of the night. Thats the law. Always doing things at the wrong time and doing them beyond the hours demanded for it. Rest is the most crucial element of Grace.
