I want you guys to know something. I do eat maple syrup, honey - TopicsExpress

I want you guys to know something. I do eat maple syrup, honey and stevia, yakon, other root sweeteners, etc. I dont eat cane sugar or anything with it in it (i.e. processed foods). I cant live without the sweeteners I use - I am so much healthier than when I did eat cane sugar and when I get a bit of an overload, I cut back. I make ice cream out of frozen fruit of bananas and mangos and make watermelon popsicles - or I just eat a gob of fruit if I am feeling the need for sweets - BUT - that is not the healthiest either. I do get out of control sometimes and then I cut back. This group is helpful for me because I am a work in progress! I make raw, organic, vegan chocolates that are sweetened with raw organic agave nectar and local maple syrup. The other ingredients are raw cacao and raw cacao butter, sprirulina and then some spices and whatever I decide to put in there such as seeds, nuts, mulberries, goji berries, peanut butter, almond butter, chia seeds, etc. I use a ton of superfoods in my daily life, I eat a lot of fat (avocados, coconut and nuts) and I am almost vegan. I dont eat any meat but I do have some dairy once in a while -usually goat or sheeps milk cheese instead of cows milk. When I choose bread, it is from a local bakery here in Powell - Bee Hive Breads. They use honey to grow their yeast in the ones I buy. My husband is gluten free so he uses Eban breads - another local baker. There are so many ways to eat - so many ways to get healthy. I know Sunshine advocates a total no sugar approach but I just wanted to explain that I am not a total non sugar person. Low sugar, yes. No cane sugars, yes. If that boots me out of here, then let me know, Sunshine Sung! You guys are amazing!! All of the changes are going to make you healthier and also make you better runners!! I am both since cleaning up my eating a few years ago, but I still include some (what I consider to be healthy) non-cane sugar sweeteners in my diet.
