I wanted to be true to my promise to address what I said a week ago about World Vision and their revocation of their decision on hiring gay employees. I admit that some of my word choice was unkind, specifically using the term cowardly. My apologies to World Vision decision-makers towards whom I used the term. In terms of the substance of the issue, I still believe that the revocation decision was unwise and based on fear. And I still believe that Christians who threatened to pull their support over the issue were acting in a profoundly un-Christlike manner. But that does not excuse me being rude, and I should have used different language than calling those actions disgusting. Sincere apologies for my ungracious word choice.
