I wanted to know how people felt about pulling over for funeral - TopicsExpress

I wanted to know how people felt about pulling over for funeral processions. I always thought it was courtesy, not law, but still a way to show respect for the dead. It has been such a very tragic week this past week for several area people. I just want to let everyone know that we have a wonderful community, people can all band together to pray and help each other. I was rather disappointed yesterday (and I do hope these individuals were from out of town, but) as we were in a funeral processional to the cemetery (several miles out of town), that on the highway we passed at least 15-20 vehicles. Only 3 pulled over to show respect. One person in particular took it upon himself to pass all of the 20 or so cars in the processional, including the hearse. That jack wagon got pulled over by the highway patrol. Granted in town there was a show of respect, and we cant control what happens but---with a few more area funerals surely in the works, I just wanted to raise an awareness about this topic---to show respect for the dead---and the people who mourn them. I was rather appalled with the individual who passed the entire procession with oncoming cars and all. I am not ranting, nor looking for negative comments, just encouraging people to think of others...which most of those who read this do. Everyone be safe this Holiday season. Merry Christmas!
