I wanted to let everyone know something about the book. Im using every cent of the money from the from the books bought at the stores and online to build a sign at Erics skate park. The character Simon in the book is based on my good friend Eric McKinley who was killed in Iraq. Erics mom Karen and some other people fought to get the skate park in Corvallis named after him. They did, but the sign to the skate park is in horrible disrepair. There was a metal plate bolted on a rock that had his name on it but vandals have ripped it off and its missing. The only thing there that has his name is a cracked plexi-glass sign on rotted wooden beams. I get a certain percentage from every book sold and Ooligan has been great; they gave me a bit more than industry standard. They will cut me a check every six months. Im going to take those checks and put them into the A Rock or Something bank account until we can raise enough money to build something worthy of Eric. Its the least I can do and I wanted you all to know that when you buy a copy youre helping to build a memorial to one of most unique and best souls Ive ever met. Please, share this with anyone you know that may have bought a copy.
