I wanted to let everyone know that all repairs and accessories are 5% off this Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Whats the occasion you may ask? Tuesday is the official 1 year anniversary of CDC opening for business. I also want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for all of your support over the last year. Starting CDC, like any other business, is always a risk. The first year is always the toughest, and I made it this far because of endless support from key people. My Mom, My Sister, my close friends and relatives, and especially you, the customers. Ive always referred to all of you as stakeholders, and as I assess the last year, it really is the truth. Beyond the business aspect, I thought Id share some personal thoughts with you. As many of you already know, the past few years have been a challenge for our family. A lot of setbacks, with the greatest being the passing of our father, Dr. John J. ORangers. I cannot emphasize enough how difficult his situation was, not only for himself, but all of us in his immediate family. But there has been a silver lining. This little business was about as far from reality for us just a short time ago. His spirit and passion for all things electronic served as a catalyst, and now here we are one year later. We can only rely on faith, but I like to think he knows about it and somehow, somewhere he is smiling. I wanted to share this brief video with all of you. I have used it as sort of my own little pump up theme during the past year. I must acknowledge that FOX owns this, so I promise to not use it beyond this post. It is a scene from a movie starring Jimmy Stewart called Flight of the Phoenix. It was one of Dads top 5 favorites, and he introduced us to it when we were young. Its an American classic and its based on a novel of the same name. The story is about a group of men on an oil drilling crew whose plane crashed in the Sahara desert. There is no hope of rescue, they have little water and food, and death is a near certainty. But they never give up and use their skills and will to survive and build another plane out of the wreckage and save themselves. Some of you younger folks out there may recall a remake of this a few years ago, but it was a failure. The original is fantastic, if youve never seen it, check it out. The plane in the movie also has local ties; its a Fairchild Flying Boxcar, and it was built in Hagerstown, MD. In conclusion, thank you again. Your support has played a huge role in helping lift all of us up, and like the movie, start the engine.
