I wanted to make a pie tonight. Stormy weather.....seemed fitting. The only defrosted meat I had in the fridge was Italian fennel sausages. The other catch was I didnt want to include the pastry. No fun I know, but Im trying to be good! I ended up with a deconstructed sausage, pea and mash dish. The chilli in the sausage with fennel was amazing. I added mushrooms to the mix and fresh parsley. I also served grilled zucchini. You can find these kind of sausages at a good deli. The sausage meat was seasoned with Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce, plus a hint of Vegemite (for those with an thermomix, it was the Aussie beef pie. All in all a tasty dinner packed with flavour.
