I wanted to make this known to everyone before the rumor mill - TopicsExpress

I wanted to make this known to everyone before the rumor mill starts running, I want you all to hear it from the horses mouth. I have resigned from BCEMS. There have been several factors influencing my decision to do so, and the conversations that transpired today (which will not be discussed publicly) played a huge role in making my decision for me. I am honored to have served the citizens of Bradley County for nearly 6 years, but my path is now leading me in a different direction. My only regret is that I am leaving a job that has taught me so much, and one that has introduced me to so many AWESOME people...but I will not be able to work under the current administration any longer. I have my own short comings, but NEVER have I placed a patient in jeopardy or made a decision that would negatively effect the PATIENTS, who are my true employer. I take my job very seriously and when people decide that minuscule short-comings are more important than saving lives and providing exceptional patient care, when the powers that be discourage growth, and refuse to act and think logically, I can no longer associate myself with them. I will not be made to feel like a failure, and I will not accept that I have provided anything less than the BEST care an emergency service worker can provide. The problems at BCEMS rest solely on the shoulders of those that refuse to listen to the men and women on the front lines, with the good ol boys club that refuses to accept change and new ways of thinking, and with the head of the snake who works downtown that is constantly knocking our legs out from under us. I will take many memories with me, and I will leave the BS behind. I wish all of my friends and coworkers the best of luck moving forward. I want to specifically thank Jade Lockhart for molding me into the paramedic that I am today, I think I would have self destructed a long time ago if it wasnt for his lessons and confidence in me. I want to thank Brian Ballew, who in my professional opinion is the BEST EMT that bradley county employees, he will soon be one of the best paramedics they have as well. I have taught him everything I know, and I hope he maintains that aggressive spirit that will save lives throughout his career. He is the most loyal and trusted partner a medic could ever have. Brian is someone that I will call friend for life. Youll see me around, I am working full-time at Erlanger East ER, and I will be graduating with my RN next year. I shoulda been a cowboy.............
