I wanted to repost one of the few people that I consider a true friend. My former Captain from the Motor / Vessel Sylvia M . LeBoeuf at D&S Marine Service, and Eckstein Marine Service. He is also a 2nd time Purple Heart recipient, and Vietnam Marine Corps Veteran. Wounded at Khe-Sahn for the 68 Tet Offensive from a communist 82mm mortar, and in 69 for Operation Meade River in the Chu Ly area ( Bad Lands ) when a Typhoon hit the area causing Main Force V.C.and N.V.A. to come to the surface of the Tunnels, loosing all his friends, and almost loosing his leg. Jim Ferguson s MOS was with the Engineers ( land mine warfare ) and he also entered tunnels with a .45 1911, and a flashlight to set plastic charges.The hippies spit on him and the other Marine who was pushing Jim off the plane in a wheelchair in Los Angeles, while he was on his way to the University of Southern California Medical Center, for more surgeries on his leg, bone grafts from his hip to save his leg, and a new experimental stainless steel frame on his leg and screwed into the bone, for 8 months where he caught staff infection and had to undergo physical therapy.
