I wanted to share a letter I received from Roethke. He was adopted by the Curtis family last year. They send wonderful updates and have continued to support the rescue. They lost their wonderful GSD named Rex and their heartbreak led them to Roethke...who also had a broken heart. Oh, Roethke...You are so Welcome. Thank you Amber for finding me a home and a parents that care for me more than I could have ever known. I have a great dad who spoils me, my own bedroom (though I prefer to cuddle with him in his bed), I get to go for car rides or walks every day and he even stands outside with me in the rain and cold watching me when I pee or poo (kind of strange but he says it is because he doesnt want me chasing rabbits). I have a girlfriend named Charlie I get to wrestle and play with nearly every day, a dog park and walking trails close to home and stores I get to go into and check stuff out. I even get to carry the mail in! As much as Mike says he owes everything to you for allowing him to adopt me, I owe everything to you for finding me, taking me in and allowing us to meet. Mike knows how much I love him because of my tail and I whine or bark at him to get his attention plus I shadow him wherever he sits, walks and sleeps. I know Mike loves me (although I dont see a tail wag) he talks to me, gives me hugs, asks me to go with him when he leaves (except for work), always hugs me, tells me he loves me, plays with me and I see it in his eyes. Every rescued Shepherd deserves a life like mine. I have a great life, a really really great life. Thank you!
