I wanted to share an experience I had while volunteering with Ramses today. While at the Rehab center we stopped In the physical therapy room to visit with the patients. One of them was an elderly woman in a wheelchair, she was small and frail. The therapists had her wheelchair positioned between the parallel bars that patients can use for balance. As we approached, she smiled and reached her small hand over the bar to reach for Ramses who was just out of reach. Just as the therapist was about to move her hand under the bar, Ramses took a step and stretched out his head to meet her hand and held it there as she stroked him and smiled. I did not ask him to step up he just knew what she needed. She never spoke but her smile spoke volumes. Even after all these years this dog can amaze me with his gentle, loving soul!
