I wanted to share my experience with Dicks Sporting goods. I ordered a safe. 48 inches wide....about 550lbs. I went in the store and ordered it online in the store. The sales guy was awesome....got me free white glove shipping and a $100 discount promotion they were having. This was MARCH 11th. I get an email a month later telling me it was back ordered until mid may. The first week of May I get an email telling me the order has been cancelled due to the inactivity. So I call the next day and they tell me the safe is at the shippers in my town and they will call me to set up delivery. I wait a week...no call from shipper. I call them and they come out to inspect the place to make sure they can get it up the stairs etc. (mind you l sent them pics of the entire path thru the house with a drawing of all openings, doors, and etc with measurements.) After 3 more weeks of me waiting they tell me they cant deliver it and I will hear from Dicks to make other arrangements. I wait another 3 weeks.....no call. After several emails and calls of me being put off I get a supervisor on the phone and tell them to TELL ME what safe I can order that will be EASIER FOR THEM to deliver. THey told me what one to get, did a refund and placed the order for the new smaller safe. This was the beginning of July. Still dont have the new safe. I have spent hours on hold, on the phone, emails, etc. So this week I call and get nasty...the new shipper is telling me the safe will not go in to my house either....I am like the openings in the drawing and corners are all wider than the safe and go over the measurements....they tell me to call Dicks...they are sending it back. I get on the phone with Dicks and they tell me my area of the home is too small (Not true) Turns out the Second safe they sent to the shipper was the WRONG one. They sent an even bigger safe than the first one when in fact the second one I ordered was 8 inches smaller all around. SO they tell me they will look in to it (This was wed) Still havent heard back. Almost 6 months have past -- they have had my money--- and I dont have my safe. So i went across the street to the BRAND NEW Academy Sports that opened and purchased a safe today and it will be delivered in the morning. I am utterly amazed at how long this was and it literally was a bunch of people passing the buck and NO ONE CARED....it was like I was the pain in the ass client. The absolute worst customer service I have ever had. Its not like they dropped the ball once and I am just mad. I gave them 50 chances and 6 months and they still didnt care about a $1500 sale. You would think we are having a great economy and they dont need the money. Now for all my time invested in this whole process, the anger, the stress, and the hassle guess what they offered me...... NOTHING! My company isnt perfect....but I dont judge a company by the mistakes they make.....I judge them by the way they deal with the mistakes they make. Needless to say I am less than impressed.
