I wanted to share something, something which I think is very important. In regard to Aspergers Syndrome with which I and my son have been diagnosed... Aspergers, or Aspergers Syndrome DISORDER, has been described as being an epidemic. Epidemic? No. Hell, no! I believe that it is one of the more salient developments which are a part of our evolution. I believe it is a genetic adaptation to pandemic over-stimulation. It is not a disorder. It is a precious gift. It is the innate ability to focus in ways that would be impossible for those not gifted with the disorder, and an ability to discern details that would have remained invisible to normies. I have always seen my gift as invaluable, but in a work situation wherein no one wants to look bad and is on the lookout for weakness, people like me are stifled, smothered, and fired. Believe it or else, I am not trying to comfort the inner child that after all these years, still wants pity and revenge. I would just like it if folks would pay some attention to the people in your life and see if there might be some work YOU could do to learn other ways of learning and communicating. We should welcome ideas from outside of ourselves and our culture, and from an Aspie. The disorder part is a moniker applied by those who think we are a pain in the ass. We may seem like a pain in the ass by our very presence, but to whom does that problem belong? As a normie, you simply cannot imagine what its like, but you CAN recognize it and celebrate it, as I and my sons mother do. Its all part of something...something wonderful
