I wanted to share something with you guys that I just realized that has made my contest prep diet much smoother and I havnt heard anyone else bringing this up while doing a contest diet although the info could already be out there: In the beginning of my diet I was 206 about 5 months ago. I am now 178lbs and I have realized that as I am getting down so low on bodyfat that now my refeed days need to be sooner than once a week and my daily fat and carb intake has had to go up in order for me to continue to lose wieght and also feel ok- health wise- (contest diets plain and simple are not easy on the body) When my bodyfat was greater; I was able to diet harder and force my body to use its fat reserves for energy and whatnot- now that I am so much lower; not as much fat to help keep me feeling ok with such a diet; so my point is- there is a threshold to be aware of: when dieting- at first you can diet harder to lose the fat and then once it is so low; you actually gotta start eating more again to continue to lose weight (keep the metabolism firing) and for energy levels/ bodily health. So now Im eating more fats and carbs as well ands having a carb reload day about 2 days sooner than I used to. All the other times despite this state of low bodyfat; I continued to do the low carbs and fats and sugars thru it and felt horrible as well as my fat loss slowing down. But now realizing this the other day; I will continue to lose fat at an accelerated rate just knowing this. And the lower your bodyfat is: the more fat your body needs to keep going and nd to keep burning fat; same with sugars and carbs..... Something very very important to remember- also I have noticed my body hasnt been retaining much water on the low carb diet; so keeping hydrated is also more important by default- no carbs to soak up the water..... Keep in mind when I say low carbs; all I am doing is having veggie carbs thru all this and with every single meal- not a no carb diet- just veggie carbs- This is my endormorph contest diet.....wont work for everyone. Just wanted to share this with you all.
