I wanted to share this post from a Certified Midwife who uses Doterra Oils as a part of her practice and what she had to say on using the LLV supplements during pregnancy and nursing....Ok, so this post is for doTerra essential oil users, and IPCs. There is a lot of buzz out in the oiling world about Lifelong Vitality Pack, and whether or not it is safe during pregnancy. I have been watching these conversations from the sidelines and not really getting too involved. Tonight, Heather Jennings contacted me and asked me what I knew about taking these supplements during pregnancy, and referenced all the buzz feed about taking them in pregnancy. I took about 15 minutes, and looked at all of the ingredients. Alpha CRS has turmeric and milk thistle in them, when after researching further I discovered are not recommended in pregnancy, In addition, the amount of Vitamin A in this supplement is 3xs the recommended dose in pregnancy, and the consequences of excessive Vitamin A in pregnancy may be birth defects in the unborn babe. Milk thistle may encourage milk supply in breastfeeding, and turmeric is not contraindicated either, however, the Vitamin A dosage is still excessive as 3000 IU is the recommended dose. Therefore, my recommendation is that you not take these supplements during pregnancy, and if you choose to take them during lactation, you follow the recommended daily allowances for Vitamin A during lactation. I like Garden of Life Raw prenatals.
