I wanted to share this story so all you folks would be aware. This is a true story that happened to me two weeks ago. I had just turned a corner passing by a liquor store in downtown Lowell, when a pedestrian at a dead run did a shoulder roll over the hood of my car and landed face down on the sidewalk. I was shocked. My passenger hopped out to check the guy who jumped up saying he was ok and would not give his name. I did not get out of the car. I pulled over. There was a guy standing on my left and the passenger door was open. There were two other guys out there on the right. The passenger got back in and we drove away. I notified the police in case the guy put in for a hit and run and the insurance company was the most enlightening. Even though they had not exactly heard this ploy, the thought it was a car jacking gone wrong. They expected me, the driver to hop out of the car and check on the pedestrian. At that time, they would hop in and take the car and my bag. I have damage to the car so I have to meet my deductible....Meanwhile, if something similar happens to you. Lock your doors and call 911...do not get out of your car.
