I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I am so deeply - TopicsExpress

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I am so deeply sorry we have had to meet under these circumstances, but I am truly THANKFUL we have found each other on this journey. My name is Jennifer Cagle~Huffman (my friends and family call me Jenn...I consider you both...so please feel free to call me Jenn) and I am the Founder, Creator, and Administrator of SOLOS~Survivors Of Loved Ones to Suicide~ (I thought it would be nice to be able to put a face with the name). I created SOLOS in May 2012 in memory of my beautiful mama, LaVonn Cagle. I was born, raised, and will probably always live in Missouri USA. I have a wonderfully supportive husband and 6 amazing children ranging in ages from 6-24 (that is not a typo...yes...I truly have 6 children). I am Blessed with an amazing job, I manage the only commercial airline in our town. I love to take pictures (I personally take 99.9% of the images you see in our picture posts myself during my travels...feel free to share them, it makes my heart happy to see them shared), I LOVE to travel and History is my favorite subject. I love to meet new people (nothing brings me more joy than being able to hug one of my fellow SOLOS physically). I am a musicians daughter, so music has always played a huge roll in my life, and I take great comfort from it. I also love to read and I truly appreciate any book ideas shared with me. My beautiful mama died by suicide on May 16, 1998. The loss of my mama was a life changing event, and though I know I will never be the same person I was before this loss, over the years I have been able to live through my loss and find a new normal. After the loss of my mama I wanted to help others, so began this path and journey for me and my family. I always said if I could help just one family to know they were not alone on this journey, then I feel I have made a difference in this world. I advocate for suicide prevention, awareness, and postvention (I also enjoy speaking publicly about these topics). In the last 4 years I have attened 7 AFSP Out of the Darkness Walks for suicide prevention. SOLOS has been just as healing for me as it has been for each of you. I have met some of the most amazing life survivor friends after creating this page. SOLOS creates a wonderful opportunity for us to be able to connect with other survivors. I am always humbled, and have been known to shed a few tears, by the outpouring of love and support I find here on SOLOS every single day, and I am forever thankful that something positive has come from the loss of my mama. Please always remember you are never alone on this very unique journey through suicide grief. SOLOS now has over 8,000 family members that are here to show you love, support, and to help lift you up when you need it the most. You are in my thoughts and prayers daily. Much love~
