I wanted to take a moment to reflect back on the 18 months I have been Dark Knight Down Under (Batman). I feel as though I have lived a thousand lives in the suit. I have climbed a 53 floor building, handed out medals at the finish line, marched in a city parade, been on TV no less than 6 times, met dozens of great people, danced on stage in front of hundreds and been on the frontline of a rising community group raising thousands for charities every year. Ive seen the smiles of 1,000s of kids and taken just as many photos. I often get left behind or bring up the rear when in a group at events and when asked why, I simply reply I am never in too much of a hurry to take a photo with a child and their family. Some do it for cosplay fame (or something to that effect), others do it for money (I dabbled in that before), but when it all comes down to it, its all for the people that I can make smile for just a moment. The Batsuit wont last forever (I give it another 3-12 months) but the memories will live on and it doesnt mean I am going away. Thanks to those people like my wife, the members of Perths Allied Costumers and all of you followers. Its been a blast.
