I wanted to update you on the crash last night. I was just outside turning on the hose to make some compost tea for tomorrow and noticed 4 people standing by the ditch (mom, dad, boy and girl) on the road so I walked over to talk to them. I said Howdy, des anyone know what happened here? The father said oh yes we know. I waited 15 seconds and nobody talked to me so I replied Umm...ok can someone tell me then? The father explained that his daughter wasnt paying attention and overshot the stop and rolled her truck onto its back. She called him on her cell phone and he came over and righted her truck and then towed her home a couple miles away. I mentioned I was happy nobody was hurt. The father nodded. Nobody talked after this. I stood there for awhile but felt I was a third wheel so excused myself and said Ok then....well....have a good day. I walked back and continued what I was doing and they left. I found it disappointing that nobody apologized or picked up the broken glass. I felt I should add this update because I received quite a lot of flak from less than polite viewers who blame me for not calling the police. They also made many excuses for the person who did this. The kid was likely on the phone or texting. Someone crashes into my property and I am yelled at by idiot viewers and then not offered an apology from the family who did this? I am immensely disappointed in many people and my neighbors. I can make this promise: If I ever stupidly ram my vehicle into YOUR property I will take 10 seconds from my life and apologize and pick up the wreckage. I will further NOT fault you for being asleep and not contacting the police which would have been MY responsibility in the first place.
