I wanted to visit Palestine. The only way to get into Palestine, - TopicsExpress

I wanted to visit Palestine. The only way to get into Palestine, is to first get into Israel, then travel to Palestine. I was going to Palestine to take part in an olive harvest, travel, do some tourism and meet some Palestinians. Israel never let me though, after I landed, they interrogated me for hours, as well as 2 other people who were coming on the tour with me. They asked me about my family, why I had been to Pakistan and Dubai, what I do, who my family is in Pakistan, how often I speak to them, asked about my parents. They said they didn’t believe me. They took my belongings off me, took my phone off me, went though everything ( I had deleted everything off my phone anyway, but they went through my contacts). Then they took my picture, my fingerprints, they said they were denying me and the other two people on the tour with me, access and would put me on the next flight home, which was the next day. So they took us to a detention facility and kept us overnight, in a dark room, locked, with bunk beds and a toilet. Wasn’t allowed my belongings or my phone. Some of the other women in the facility were in situations 100x worse than mine (African refugees, who didn’t want to go back to Africa etc). Finally, we got escorted back to the airport, and put on the plane. On the plane I recognized a guy from the airport, who had interrogated me, really freaky! Finally got my passport when I landed and it had a big stamp on it (which I guess I am kinda proud of) saying denied access at Ben Gurion airport. The craziest, scariest, weirdest few days of my life. I never got into Palestine, but what I did get a glimpse of, is what it’s like to be under Israeli control. For the Palestinians, it’s 100x worse, they can be searched on the way to school, they have their family members shot and killed and then if they resist they get arrested. What an injustice. Israel, you never let me in, but you have just made my passion for Palestine even stronger. Viva Palestina!
