I wanted to wait a minute and gather my thoughts before putting words on Fb, Tobago has been an incredible experience for many reasons and in different ways for everyone who went. From the chaos of our arrival into the wall of heat that is the norm in Tobago to the confusion of room allocation and slow (in 10 minutes) pace of the wonderful people of this lovely island I found myself somewhat overwhelmed. I tried not to let my poorly feeling interfere with the whole week but I feel I failed and for that I am sorry. You were all truly amazing you adapted so well to your surrounding and like all families we had our hiccoughs along the way but everyone was there to support each other and show the world what being a SWift truly means. Your concern for each other when the vomiting bug hit and when our lovely (even in a bin liner) Holly Molesworth got inured was admirable to see. The way the parents entertained us was something I will keep with me forever. You turned up in blistering heat and intermittent pouring rain to show the rugby community that England had arrived, two teams from one family dug deep, with only 3 subs a piece and came away with a 3rd placing and the shield. I could wax lyrical all day about things that will stay with me but in particular I will say one of them was Millie Woods breakaway try that turned the tide (and I know Heidi was with her at that moment) leading to a glorious win in front of a truly supportive crowd (especially those Esher boys !!!), to a mum moment when Charlie Notman (who at one point was not even supposed to go (having been in hospital the week before) to playing in each game, all be it for a short time only) to watch her sprint down the pitch to score the closing try of the last SWift game of the tournament. Loving how we all wrapped our arms (metaphorically speaking) around Marshall and Seb and welcomed them into our world and how they responded to the challenge. I know our supporters all came away having made new friends and feeling very very much part of the SWift family. Our last day and journey home in itself was a challenge, one of which was to see who could get burnt the most (needed to get those last rays). A heartfelt thanks from me goes to Jim Notman (lovely hubby of 36years) who has become one of the boys, to Jason Wheatley for his naughty nature and calm manner and to Kevin Moggridge who never fails to entertain and lead us all. The outcome is highlighted not only in our rugby success but in the fact you all want to go back again next year. THANK YOU EVERYONE and just like Kev I hope you all got home safe and sound, weary but happy xxxxx
