I was 19 years old in 2002 when I first became eligible to vote. I voted in 2002 and I have always done so to all the elections that followed with the exception of 2008 Presidential run-off which I abstained in protest to the callous activities that preceded the vote. I would have wished to cast my vote again in this decisive election of 2013 but unfortunately I won’t be able to do so. It is my appeal dear friends, those of you with the opportunity to do so, please vote wisely. Let’s vote for hope, economic restoration, and above all, lets vote for social capital - those tangible assets that count for most in the daily lives of people: namely goodwill, fellowship, sympathy, and social intercourse among the individuals and families who make up a social unit. Please don’t take us back to the 2008 era.
