I was a police officer in the 80s and 90s. If I stopped someone - TopicsExpress

I was a police officer in the 80s and 90s. If I stopped someone whos father pulls up to tell me of a mental health condition that would, obviously, benefit me in my handling of that situation... I would thank him for the information and commend him for taking the time to get out and come to the scene. I would NOT arrest him for what appears to be absolutely no reason (other than ego and abuse of power)... then yank him out of the car and taze him. What in the world is wrong with these police officers. That is simply common sense. Not difficult. Just common sense. ... As I talk to my son(s) about their future plans to become police officers (one of which is actively going thru that employment process)...you can bet that I show them videos like these and spend a lot of time telling them how this should have been handled. Shame on these officers. Both of them. (because joining in something like that is just as bad as being the primary officer making the mistake). I am grateful that I live in a city where something like this would surprise me. A sincere thank you to the men and women in blue, here at Metro Nashville PD!
