I was a terrible student to most of my teachers. Id make fun of them in class (not just say mean things about them to my friends, the silly little retard that I was, I said everything to their faces). I did whatever I could to make it miserable for them. Me and my friend, once we saw a class in session and we locked the door from outside and ran. God knows what happened to those poor people. And I was terrible at this subject called English. I recall this instance where my English teacher grabbed me by the ear, pulled me down 3 flights of stairs (while still holding a firm grip on my ear) and shoved me in the staff room (I was caught playing cards in the last bench) . And then every teacher in the room had their say, and it all started with यो केटा !! यो केटा !!! मेरो Class मा नी येस्तै छ यो | Sir, केहि गर्नुस तपाई ! He took me outside the staff room and told me, If youll be good this year, Ill recommend you for the merit card. I just held my head down and muttered something which he probably didnt hear. Later that day, I thought a lot about it. And I decided to act on it. And later, when the year ended, I was nominated for the Merit list. And I got the card ! That changed something inside me, and I cant really explain how. And now, every-time one of my articles gets published somewhere, every-time someone compliments me on my writing, I get a flash-back of the 9th grade. Kudos to you Sir ! I really wish Id get to meet more people like you. Happy Teachers day.
