I was able to visit the CITY OF LULING ANIMAL SHELTER last Wednesday. The shelter is run by Luling Police Chief Bill Sala. You may remember Chief Sala as he wrote a powerful letter about banning the use of the carbon monoxide (gas) chamber, which was presented to Texas Senators and Reps earlier this year. It was a pleasure meeting him in-person! The shelter has come a long way. There are several dog runs, a large fenced in yard for the dogs and a building for cats/kittens. The place is clean and staff are trying to do what they can to help the animals. They need more volunteers and will gladly accept donations (see link below). So, if you have some free time, especially this summer, think about helping out and making a difference. There are LOTS of kittens up for adoption! Please help spread the word about this shelter. Thanks!
