I was added to this group some days ago and have been reading the posts with interest. I have shown great confidence in Louth by bringing my ladies clothes shop Tilletts to the town at the site of the Old Spinning Wheel shop. It worries me slightly the fact that lots of people are saying the town is dying and set in its ways ect, it is still very early days for us but I do have to say the response we have had so far to us opening has been extremely positive and the Louth people have been very kind and friendly. To make a successful business we need people to want to shop in the town center and spend money. With regard to the supermarket situation I can speak with a little experience myself as I live only a matter of a few hundred yards from the tesco extra store in Cleethorpes. On the estate I live we have a thriving set of shops including a bakery, butchers, two convenience stores and several takeaways all doing a very good trade with tesco literally on its doorstep. I know Cleethorpes obviously is different to Louth but I genuinely think Louth town center will still thrive even if a large store was to arrive Louth has lots of uniqueness about it which makes it special. I will work hard to make my new venture work in the town and I am very much optimistic about the future, hope I havnt gone on too much, also just to say all welcome to our official opening from 4 pm on tues 11th come and join us for a celebratory drink.
