I was asked, What is your problem with religion? My honest answer, Religion teaches to you believe in something other than yourself. If we truly are conceived in the image of God, would it not stand to reason; believing in ourselves, is the true measure of our belief in God? After all, is that not why we were given to free will by the Creator, given domain and rule over our own flesh, to test us on our faith? If you have no faith in yourself, how then can you give faith unto God? Was it not said, Faith without works is dead. I may not subscribe to any or all religion, thinking it a fools errand, a tool to control the masses, but that does not impact my belief in a Grand Design or a Creator of that manifestation. Instead, know that I am a reflection of, as well as reflecting upon, the essence of that Great Spirit. I carry its spark within me and recognize it in all things. I am, because of my faith. Had I not had faith in myself, there would be little any God could do for me, and hence, I would not still be here, continuing the struggles of faith, just as I am. If you need to believe in something, something tangible and real, something you know intimately and can recognize, then believe in yourself. Everything else you need, will come out of that belief.
