I was asked about my orphan days....one story comes to mind. I was 11 yes old and no parents. I had three older sisters that became the ones to take care of four boys under 15. I had a cousin Joe Hager which was about 6 yes older than me. Joe decided we would go to the local town of rainelle and trade our seng. So off to town we go. Did I mention it was a three mile walk each way? We got to Flints hardware store threw our seng up on the counter and got one box of twenty two shells! And each a big ole chocolate bar. Two boys were happy as can be BC that box of shells enabled us to shoot critters to eat! It was a game of survival in 1952. We were about as poor as a family could be. That is my earliest memory of my first trading days with seng.
