My reply (with a few elaborations): I dont know and dont care. I have no interest in finding out. Doings so...is the mode of mind of a shape-shifter; a compulsive panderer; an unctuous approval junkie; one self-imprisoned by the fear of trespass into the comfort zone of prigs, pedants, petty tyrants, and ninnies. Moreover: At the baffled heart of it all, even the intimate figures in our lives remain strangers, thus pandering would prove less than propitious for all concerned. Such a blessed mystery this is -- the futility of mapping the unconquerable landscape of others…and that is one of the few mercies creation bestows.
