I was asked recently- why I was doing music therapy with a child who was deaf...“Music is not about hearing any more than language is” Ruth Montgomery, deaf musician and music teacher (college dissertation, 2005) As with any hearing child, it’s always good to introduce a deaf child to music as early as possible. In the early years having the opportunity to enjoy music in can facilitate a child’s communication skills and ability to engage with others. I hope to post some videos up soon to back this up!!
