I was asked this interesting question recently by a friend of mine. He asked me “ You seem to know people from different fields and wanted to understand on how do you network with people specially the celebrities. Are you an extrovert, do you attend parties etc…”. The question did make me think and realized that I am both an extrovert as well as an Introvert depending upon the situation. I am not a Party goer and cannot recollect a single party that I have attended. But then my answer to the question was simple “ Focus on relationship that can be built and not just networking with someone because he/she is a celebrity or you think that the person will be of use in future. Such networking skills will not take you long. Instead invest time in building relationship and that will last for a life time and you will cherish every single minute of it”. Networking is the first step and it can come out of practice but building relationship is not easy, takes time and one needs to be sincere and honest.
