I was asked to attend a ceremony today at the Midland Veteran’s Memorial to place a rose and a wreath on the Iraq Wall of the newly constructed memorial, and another mother whose son was KIA in Afghanistan, placed the wreath and rose on the Afghanistan wall. There were representatives to do this for all the wars (Vietnam, Korean, etc.) It was a nice ceremony, although a pretty tearful day. They had speakers, bagpipes and the soldiers present did a gun salute. I am attaching pictures of what the memorial looks like, and Levi’s brick that my Mom and Dad bought for him. The bricks were sold to finance some of the cost of this Veteran’s Memorial.
