I was asked yesterday why I long for Heaven instead of just being content in the world we live in. I guess the best way I can explain it is found in the Bible, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1 John 2:15 I do want to say I am extremely grateful for life, for life is a gift which is given to us so that we may do the work our Heavenly Father has asked of us. Life is something I never want to take for granted. On the other hand, my home is not of this world. It never has been nor will it ever be. My desire is to be in the presence of my Creator and my greatest prayer is to see everyone else there as well someday. With all that is unfolding throughout the world, I believe that the time in which we are living, is GOD’s way of preparing us for our ultimate destination, which is eternity with HIM. If we loved this world, if the world was paradise and we were in perfect peace here, how much would we think about our Heavenly FATHER? Would we long to see HIM, live in Heaven, and walk with JESUS? There are several passages in the Bible which plainly states how we are to be concerning this world. “And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God.” Romans 2:12 “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 We are facing many new and unfamiliar dangers in the world we are living. Yes, there have been dangers faced by all other generations, but for some reason, this time seems different. I can’t begin to thank GOD enough that my “security” comes from JESUS. There is only one way to have absolute peace, joy and security which is knowing where you will spend eternity. Our choice of eternity is one of two places. Without JESUS as your Savior, you are only as secure as your next breath, which may not take place. If you invite JESUS into your life, and walk daily with HIM, repent of your sins and seek HIM, your name is written in HIS Book of Life and your destiny is to be with HIM for all eternity! Knowing your eternity is secure in JESUS is Peace and Joy like nothing this world has to offer! I cant answer for anyone else, but Im weary of the troubles of this world. So many things happening that doesnt even seem real. The world spiraling downward with things we never thought would happen. Yes, Heaven is certainly MORE real than life on this earth. Why wouldnt I, as a child of GOD, long for my permanent home, to finally be at home with our LORD who has gone and prepared a place for HIS own. Each time Im alone in the vehicle, I thank JESUS for suffering and dying in OUR place, for OUR sins. How I look forward to bowing at HIS feet and worshiping HIM. HE Is my SAVIOR, my LORD. My Hope and security is found in HIM alone. HE is More real than this world! I know there are those who have heard it time and time again, JESUS is coming, JESUS is coming!They feel as if the saying as been worn into the ground, but the Bible promises that JESUS will return to this earth and the signs that we are to look for are Screaming at us! The warnings are about to expire! Are you ready!? Is your eternity secure in JESUS!? This urgency that I feel is like nothing Ive experienced before. I feel like I cant do enough to get the Gospel message out there before GOD sends JESUS to remove HIS followers out of this world. For some it may be hard to understand what Im writing, but if you are watching and listening for JESUS, you know what I mean. I often imagine what that first sight of JESUS will be like, HIS arms outstretched to me. There is fast approaching a moment, I shall see HIM and it will be real........ Real at last!!
