I was at Home Depot today getting some building supplies with my lovely bride. This black kid showed up and ask me if I needed some help getting my load to my truck. I told him that I could manage and there were other folks he could probably help. Well as I was going out the door he was coming back and I changed my mind. He was happy to help me and loaded my truck. I had a large plastic tub of books and I said. Do you read? He looked at me like I was insane, of course I can read. I laughed , no I mean books. I have some science fiction and novels in that tub. He grinned, I normally read real stuff but I have a thirteen year old that reads. I opened the tub, you think he would read some of these? He picked through the hard backs and said that he would. I put the lid on and told him to put them in his car. All of them? Why sure he is going to live a long time , it is likely he will finish them. I said. He shook my hand and carried the tub off. Remember asking if you read is not the same as asking can you read....
