I was at a Cable Headend today in Niles, MI. and came across this Generator Transfer switch (still in working order). Onan/Cummins is a very large National Generator company in the US, but look at the data tag - A Division of Studebaker Corporation! I called my Onan / Cummins Rep in Indianapolis and he said that the Studebaker Company partnered with Onan in the 40s and 50s and provided financial assistance as Onan was trying to get into the larger commercial size generators. He said the partnership didnt last real long and was unsure why they split. If this is indeed from the 50s, it is still working and hooked up to the generator. does anyone know anything about this?
