I was at a crossing on HWY50 when this Railroad signal issue first - TopicsExpress

I was at a crossing on HWY50 when this Railroad signal issue first started today in Canon City and the railroad signals dropped and damaged my truck hood...not terrible but it did completely scrape my paint off the hood in two spots as it bounced off it. Is this something that I can contact someone about to get fixed by the railroad? I was not waiting on the tracks themselves as I thought I had park far enough away like I normally do when waiting for the street light. There are no paint markings on the road to know where to stop to be safe in-case they come down. What is also odd is I hear the train come through town loud and clear on a regular basis but I could not hear the signal sounds through the cab of my truck sitting there this time. I also could not back up any quicker because of a car sitting right behind me... Is this something most people take in the shorts when it happens??? I am not one to go after my insurance unless it is a totaled vehicle or something major like that... any advice??
