I was blocked last night by an old friend who is unwilling to - TopicsExpress

I was blocked last night by an old friend who is unwilling to accept that each of us is on our own quest for the truth, and that is not going to be the same truth that everyone else holds dear. Seriously, is there one Truth? Who was right, the Normans or the Saxons? Who is right, the Christians of the Jews or the Muslims or the Hindus or whoever? Who is right, the religious groups or the LGBT extremists that demand they are allowed to be married in the church, regardless of the doctrine of the church? Who is correct, those demanding tax increases for education (what about the children!) or those that want to hold the educational system responsible for a measured outcome? Who is right, the supporters of the ghetto thugs who get shot, or the majority of the rest of the community who is afraid to speak out? Who is right, the Muslim extremists, or the majority of the rest of the Muslims who are afraid to speak out? Who is right, the Evangelists who demand that the Word of God as written in the Bible is the truth and any deviation is a ticket straight to Hell, or those (such as the Catholics) that are willing to accept that we are not perfect and all is good as long as we accept Jesus and ask for forgiveness (my apologies for singling out the Catholics, but thats the one that came to mind). If you cannot accept that the truth you hold dear is YOUR truth, and that YOUR truth is for YOU, then we have nothing further to discuss, you might as well block me and get on with your self-centered, narcissistic life where you are the Truth and there it no other Truth. That doesnt mean you dont accept others and their Truth, but it also means you are not forced to embrace it. If you dont get this, might as well drop as well, weve got nothing to share. My thought as we enter 2015.
