I was born and grew up in HCM City which is also called Sai Gon. Because everything around me was so ordinary that I seemed to have no feelings about my city until one day when I had to go far away. At that time, I realized several facts about my city. Discovered by Nguyen dynasty in the century 18th and located on the Sounth of Vietnam, my city is a new and the most modern city in Viet Nam with a lot of interesting facts. Firstly, it is easy to travel around because there are many kinds of transport such as buses, taxis, motors…. Communication and transportation are better with smooth streets and broad avenues. We have a lot of good light streets. We enjoy cheap public facilities. I really like walking on the avenues in 1 District such as Nguyen hue, Le Loi, Dong Khoi, … especially in the special events. They are decorated with a lot of beautiful lights and many kinds of flowers and pictures. It seems that all of the beautiful things are brought here. Secondly, the material life is comfortable and convenient. There are always modern facilities such as water, electricity and internet. Business centers and shops are always close at hand to supply customers with all necessaries and luxuries, for example Diamond, Parson, Vincom, Big C supermarket system, Coopmart supermarket systems…. They are ready for people who have money. Thirdly, the social life is very enjoyable thanks to all kinds of social entertainment such as theatres, cinemas, concerts, clubs. We do not need to go too far to enjoy many kinds of art. We can have a wide circle of friends and acquantainces thanks to the abundant and active social activities. Fourthly, the city dwellers can have the best education at all kinds of first rate university and international schools with the best teachers and excellent educational facilities. Besides, they also have good opportunities to get knowledge thanks to a wide network of libraries, museums, art galleries and cultural centers. Moreover, there are many companies here so we can find a job and earn money more easily. That ‘s why it is crowded and influenced by many different cultures in the world. I love my city not only because of the above facts but also my family, my friends, my memories and my childhood. When I go faraway, the word “Sai Gon” gives me many feelings. I like a poem of Che Lan Vien: “When we lived, the ground was a place but when we leave the ground becomes my soul”. Sai Gon is closely connected with the most wonderful parts of my life.
