I was born and raised in this little town,like many of you here. I have so enjoyed reading everyones memorys and this page has again brought out the best in the people that live here. However, when I walk down the street in the modern day I am disappointed by what I see,I mean the old georges bakery shop looks like an absolute health hazard filthy dirty and dilapidated. I see shops of old falling victim to changing times. so many empty spaces in the street.how long before snooks gets taken over by the charity shop pandemic that blights our lovely little town.Nothing relative ever seems to open up in the town anymore unless you want to pay £50 for a fancy cushion. we need more places like the Electric palace who breathe life , verve, originality and modernity into the town, ironically in one of the oldest buildings of the town. this once diverse town is starting to look a little jaded which is a pity as im proud to live here.
