I was born at Frederick Memorial Hospital! I was raised on a farm - TopicsExpress

I was born at Frederick Memorial Hospital! I was raised on a farm where hard work was instilled in me, and where I was encouraged to play sports and attend church to build character. While attending and graduating from two colleges, I worked part time jobs and played soccer. My many blessings include: having a nurturing family that provided me with guidance; having a good career; marrying my loving wife; and raising a child. I have made decisions that were difficult life lessons. I was offered the American dream to work hard and succeed, and I am campaigning to ensure that the American dream remains an option for everyone. The dream begins with local government and trickles upward to state and national government. If the foundation of government is solid and cares about your hard earned wages, then in theory state and national government will be solid as well. The bottom line is that government is a business. A business must have accountability to the owner and/or shareholders. If a business was run with a negative budget or negative returns, then that business would fail. Our government has been failing financially for years and taxing the shareholder. Well, in my opinion, shareholders should not be taxed but reap benefits of good business. The business of government must be changed and cannot sustain further losses. I am running to be your next Alderman for the City of Frederick because the three credit ratings indicate we must act quickly on unpaid pension and health care liabilities, or our credit rating will fall. Should the City’s credit fall, the debt carried by the city will become more expensive. That means the taxpayer will pay more out of pocket. The American dream disappears when you work hard only to give your hard earned wages to government. Vote Daniel Cowell for Alderman September 10, 2013.
