I was born at University Hospital in downtown Cleveland. My dad - TopicsExpress

I was born at University Hospital in downtown Cleveland. My dad worked for fifteen years at the Canada Dry Bottling Corporation on Payne Avenue. I spent my childhood and early teen years in northeast Ohio, with sporting heroes like Leroy Kelly, Paul Warfield, Rocky Colavito, and Sudden Sam McDowell. I was at the first game the expansion club called the Cleveland Cavaliers ever won, with a roster that included Walt Wesley and Bingo Smith. I know, especially because of what I do, that there are many more pressing issues that don’t get the attention they need or deserve in these days of the overpaid and often over-indulging (and over-indulged) athlete. I don’t expect any of you who didn’t grow up in a proud and thriving Midwest town that has seen more than its share of overcast days (both literally and metaphorically) to understand the significance of @KingJames announcement today, but I can assure you that I understand it. Hope offered. Olive branches extended. Potential and possibility pondered. Welcome home, Lebron.
