I was born in a different state, Ive lived in 4, and visited more. In all the places Ive been, I still havent found my home. My home is a place with sweet, crisp air that reinvigorates the spirit with each lungful. It is a land with lush, thickly matted grasses, clean, transparent rivers, pristine and majestic peaks crowned with omnipresent rainbows caused by refracted light and snow. There is a vast lake which is home to many a tranquil fishing spot. Just where the mountain and lake meet there is a noble and clean-cut castle, with a courtyard so large that half a million people could live there. A nearby forest provided ample firewood, medicinal plants, and game. Yet all of the beauty and splendour of the place is only a fraction of its appeal. The people there make up the difference. They understand synergy and they know the limitations of one man. They dont expect everyone to be the same, because they are wise enough to know that a society of clones is apt to stagnate. They celebrate, honour, and respect differences in opinion, and still manage to cooperate and accomplish one anothers goals. They arent perfect, offenses are made often, in fact, but they resolve issues quickly by seeking out unbiased moderators who will listen to their stories and offer a middle ground on which to make peace. This whole process works because they know that the benefits of working together outweigh the benefits of being right. It is an idyllic place that, so far, exists only in my dreams, but it is my home, and I miss it more than I could possibly express...
