I was challaned by Shashika Fernando to post a list of 10 books that had a lasting impact on my life.. There goes my list.. 1. Les Miserables - Victor Hugo (read it at such a tender age as 10 years of age, and read so many times since.. It helped to shatter my faith of the organized society and standards of morality so often upheld thoughtlessly 2. The Bible - (Read it fairly early in my life, and it seemed to me a nice story book.. Inadvertently however, i was getting a basic idea on the thing i was destined to be up against..) 3. Agatha Christie novels - ( I dont think its fair to list them seperately, though ive spent a sizeable portion of my life reading and enjoying those.. With some guesswork, ive often found the criminal before Monsoir Poirot stood a chance :D) 4. Gods and Ghosts - Dr. Abraham T Kovoor (helped me detox a lotta religious and other myths i had been holding onto) 5. God Delusion - Prof Richard Dawkins ( True, i was already free of bullshit when i read it.. Twas an awesome book nevertheless ) 6. Finding Darwins God - Prof Kenneth Miller ( While others were bullshitting with evolution, this guy simply taught it to me) 7. Selfish Gene - Prof Richard Dawkins ( Ill never expect to read a better explanation of life, as we know it) 8. Free to Choose - Dr.Milton Friedman (True, i was a capitalist before this book.. But its one of few reasons i still am) 9. මගේ ලෝකය - Prof Nalin de Silva (Continues to provoke my thoughts today) 10. What Buddha Taught - Rev.Valpola Rahula (Read this, and youll know what Buddha DIDNT teach!!) I shall nominate Lihini Jayaweera, Rikaz M Lafier and Darshana Prabuddha Thambugala for #Bookbucketchallenge .. Please do not drop this hashtag..
