I was confused about what I have been hearing on some political issues. I tend to say that I do not understand, but sometimes I think I understand more than I should like to admit. Regardless of that, I try to think of things like when I ran the Chicago Marathon. I went to the Red Cross tent and met people of all different shades, all with a common cause. I posed for a picture with two of the nicest guys you would ever wish to meet. Their skin tones led me to believe they had relatives from south central or south western Asia, but things like race, religion, wealth..........none of that mattered. All that mattered was that we were running and we all raised money to help those in need. Whatever significance we may have privately placed on the red cross on our chests, we were brothers and what you felt about one of us you felt about us all.
